Who's Who in the Cement & Concrete

Rob
Gaimster - Chief Executive
Rob, a senior
engineer from the United Kingdom, joined the CCANZ team as
Project Manager in late 2006. Rob was previously National
Technical Manager with heavy building materials giant Cemex
Materials UK and is a Past President of the Institute of Concrete
Technology. He is a qualified civil engineer and has broad
technical knowledge and experience in concrete technology.
Angelique Van Schaik - Administrator
Angelique brings a wide range of office
skills and experience to the role which supports many of the
CCANZ key activities. She also oversees the administration
of services to our members, so do not hesitate to introduce
yourself when you next call.

Cathy Castle - Financial Administrator
Cathy has responsibility for the Association's
financial systems and provides administration support for
the Association. She also provides valuable accounting and
secretarial support to the CCANZ allied associations - NZRMCA,
NZCMA and Precast NZ.
Technical Services Team
Alan Kirby - Project Manager
Alan is a Civil Engineer, with additional qualifications in
Concrete Practice and Technology, who has worked on major
construction projects throughout the world, including roads
and bridges, dams, power stations, tunnels, airfields, and
buildings. In New Zealand he was the Concrete Production Manager
on the Clyde Dam project in the 1980's, and more recently,
the Quality Assurance Engineer on the Second Manapouri Tailrace
Tunnel project. Alan's experience with concrete includes sampling
and testing, quality control/assurance, mix design, mass concrete,
pavement quality concrete, wet and dry shotcrete, lean cement-bound
materials for subbases and roadbases, no-fines concrete, precast
and ready-mix concrete.
Bassim Bahr
Aliloom - Project Manager
In his role as the principal structural engineer at CCANZ,
Bassim is responsible for structural and seismic issues. Bassim
has over 25 years experience in design management, structural
design, and analysis and computer modelling for large-scale
projects such as stadiums, industrial power plants and super
hi-rise buildings. Prior to joining CCANZ, Bassim worked on
the structural design of many significant projects around
the world including Wembley Stadium & Royal Ascot Racecourse
in UK, and the Lighthouse Tower & Icon Hotel in Dubai.
Ralf Kessel
- Project Manager
Originally from Germany, Ralf has worked as a project architect
for a number of Berlin based practices, during which time
he was involved with a series of large-scale developments
that included the Institute of Semiconductor Physics in Frankfurt.
Ralf spent the last five years in Ireland, where as part of
a prestigious Dublin based practice he worked on the Cork
Airport Business Park, the North Dublin Golf clubhouse, and
numerous medium-rise city houses. Ralf’s extensive list
of commercial and residential projects has covered a range
of aesthetic and practical concrete applications, including
precast panels, in-situ floor slabs and concrete masonry.
Adam Leach
- Information and Communications Manager
Adam brings experience to his numerous roles at CCANZ. His
research skills ensure he can source the latest information
from around the world, and make him an integral part of the
technical enquiry service. He also co-ordinates all CCANZ
communications activities, including project and member communications.
