Quality assurance standards for concrete are specified in two codes:

NZS 3104 - Specification for concrete production - High grade and special grade.

NZS 3109 - Concrete Construction.

The New Zealand Ready Mixed Concrete Association has a plant classification scheme which uses experienced professional engineers to evaluate and monitor the process of classified plants.

The NZRMCA Plant Classification Scheme

General

The NZRMCA Classification Scheme was initially set up as a quality assurance scheme independent of plant management in 1962. There have been numerous revisions to the scheme and several revisions of the New Zealand Standards which apply.
