CURRENT PROJECTS
  RESEARCH PROGRAMME
The NZCMA have supported many R&D Projects. Some notable recent or current projects include:
Durability of masonry coating systems
Non-specific design of concrete masonry structures
Performance of prestressed concrete masonry

Performance of bedding sands for concrete pavers
  CODE DEVELOPMENT
For many years, the NZCMA has been very active in the development of suitable masonry design standards. Currently large changes are imminent within the standards environment as New Zealand and Australia harmonize their structural design Standards. The NZCMA expects to take a leading part in ensuring that users of New Zealand concrete masonry products gain maximum advantage from the outcome of this harmonisation process.
  PUBLICATIONS AND SEMINARS PROGRAMME
The New Zealand Concrete Masonry Manual is the flagship document of the NZCMA. Recently a user survey was conducted to establish priorites for updating sections of the manual, this upgrade process is now well advanced.

Recently completed sections include:
The design of masonry retaining walls
Guide to specifying concrete masonry pavers
Masonry Trade Registration
Non-specific design of concrete masonry
Concrete Masonry Veneers
Other publications include:
Better Practice Laying Guide

Publications are further supported by presentations at appropriate industry forums. Recent NZCMA presentations have been delivered at combined concrete industries and masonry trade conferences, and at nation-wide seminar venues. The NZCMA also actively participates in the training of young specifiers at New Zealand universities and polytechnics.
